MILTON KEYNES SAYS HI TO GREEN DAY!

MILTON KEYNES CONCERTS... 18TH AND 19TH JUNE 2005

After two fuckin brilliant days of green day concert milton meynes i thought id bring you a taster of the fantastic day!

fans gather in thousands

on the first day, the 18th of june many fans awoke after a restless and exciting night of either camping or sleeping at home, knowing that they were to see the fantastic green day in a matter of hours!

there were fans on trains, coaches, buses, in cars, taxis and mini cabs. milton keynes has never been so rushed and crowded with dedicated fans of all ages flocking to see their heros. the atmosphere couldnt have been more brilliant, many new friends were made and people seemed to be brought closer together, sharing costly drinks, buying others snacks and just generally having a good time, this was even before the gates were open!

and so it began

the gates opened at about 2pm. people rushed in to buy the great merchandise the bands had to offer. after the buying of more food, drink, the browsing of souveneer stores, we saw them, the great steps leading up to the top of the hill, we headed towards them at a fast run, hopped two even three steps at a timeat was came to the top, the veiw was amazing, a half bowl shaped hillside dropped elegantly and gradually to a huge, spectacular stage at the bottom, stating obviously the american idiot flag and many green day signs and symbols, at last i knew i was here. so at once we said 'lets go!' at a very fast speed we headed sprinting jumping and skipping down the steep hill to the pitt, in the very front to the stage where green day would appear at 9pm that night!

we made it!

to my complete and utter suprise, there i was, at the very front of the stage, simply metres away from where my heros were going to be in the matter of hours.

once a few hundred people entered the pit, it was closed off, other fans crowded into the bowl, as the hill top gradually filled up it soon became a mass of buzzing fans in american idiot, nimrod, dookie and various other green day merchandise hoodies and tees! it was amazing!

after hours sitting in the heat with barley no drink, water began to be passed around the fans, the atmosphere was posotivly shocking, the electricity never wore off in all those mad hours playing with beach balls, shouting at roadies and generally having fun!

other bands played first

green day... what we came for...

on came the incredible green day, and out of thousands of fans came the noise! cheers, screems, whistles and just general sound came out in support of the fantastic three!

and then the music begins, and in the pitt, the moshing starts in full swing!...

american idiot, wake me up when september ends, king for a day, maria, good riddance and basket case were among the tens of songs sung by the incredible billie joe, played by the fantastic mike and tre and danced, moshed and sung to by the delighted and loyal fans! the night was amazing, one that will stay with me forever! i love green day, i love their sound, their style, the way billie joe works the crowds of people... its breath taking!
